Railways police roll out state-of-the-art e-police post app

Lahore: Dec 01, 2022- Railways police launched an e-police post app on the pattern of Punjab police that will help the police to check previous criminal data throughout the Pakistan.

Under the vision of  IG Railways Rao Sardar Ali Khan, the app will cater to the modern technological needs for easy verification and apprehension of criminals.

The purpose of the app is to identify the criminals travelling through trains. It is  linked with the criminal record data of all LEA’s of Pakistan. It will assist the central command to assess the performance and location of police officers and officials performing the field duties. The app is designed in such a way that suspicious persons on railway stations and moving trains would easily be identified, and is developed keeping in view the field requirements to quickly help find information from huge data banks in a fast and efficient way. Thanks to the app that parked stolen/fake number plated vehicles outside the stations would also be traced out easily. Hence, it is an effective tool to apprehend court absconders and police absconders.

As many as 20 police personnel were trained on how to operate the app from all divisions of  railways police. The staff were given hands on training by IT expert under the supervision of AIG Admin, Maaz Zafar.    

The state of the art app is an unprecedented project of the railways police with the best contributions of AIG Admin Maaz Zafar, who materialized the digitization in railways police.

According to IG railways, technology and digitalization will enhance and streamline the performance of railways police and it is need of the hour to digitize the force.
